Classic Clowns of Whittier - Whitter, California, USA

The Classic Clown Alley of Whittier, CA was born out of the need for a support group for local clowns. The Classic Clown Alley is an offshoot of the Caring Clown Unit at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier. While the Caring Clown Unit provided services and support to the local health community, there was something missing. The local community at large had needs also. In that light the Classic Clowns were born in December 2002. By May of 2003, and 23 members strong, the Classic Clown Alley was chartered by the World Clown Association and is Alley 88341. The Alley became a WCA Lifetime Member Alley in 2004. The Classic Clown Alley provides local clowns with a place to meet monthly, to share ideas, to ask questions, to give and get advice, teach and learn, and generally to have a good time. The Classic Clown Alley supports its community by visiting rest homes, participating in annual events (e.g. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Relief Picnic, The Long Beach Boat and Ski Club Day for Kids with Disabilities, and Junior Diabetes Walks, and walking in parades (e.g. The Whittier Christmas Parade and The Temple City Camellia Festival Parade). Many of our members perform professionally, with some having over fifty years experience in the entertainment arena. The Classic Clown Alley meets the Second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM til 9:00 PM. The meeting is held at the My Friends House in Whittier. See map in the Meeting Information section.
